The book 'Memphis Backstage' explores both the exhibition of the same name and the history of the Memphis Design Group.
Memphis challenged the idea that products had to follow conventional shapes, colours, textures, and patterns. At the 'Galerie Lucien Schweitzer' in Luxembourg, an exhibition was dedicated to the Italian design group. As a Print Designer my objective was to capture the past and present of the Memphis group in a comprehensive, visually appealing resource.
Nathalie du Pasquier, a member of the Memphis group, created a mural for the exhibition. Her process was documented through time-lapse photography, allowing readers to appreciate not just the final artwork, but also the artistic journey. The cover of the book is a linen print of Nathalie du Pasquier's mural.
